July 15th Update
Thomas has now completed his 2nd treatment and seems to be doing well. Most of all his pain in his hip has subsided and he's not having to take as much pain medication as before. He developed a rash over the weekend on his legs and back, called his doctor to see what it may be and what he could take for it. Doc told him to take benadryl and use creams that do not contain steroids. During the conversation with the doctor, he made a comment that Julie, the doctor who's giving him his treatments would be tickled about the rash. When asked why, the doctor responded that this means the treatments are working. So the rash is a side effect from the treatments and it's a good sign. Never knew a rash could be a good thing? Thomas is planning on going back to work at Carmax in the next couple of weeks. His doctor's have approved him to return. They say if he's feeling good enough to do this then most definitely it would be a positive thing for him to do. He still can't drive but he is making arrangements to take advantage of the ETHRA transportation program, they will pick him up and take him to work each day. We continue to be very hopeful that these treatments will control this and Thomas can get back to a normal life. Stacie is now working at Asbury Acres and going to get her CNA training. Seems to really love working with the elderly. Continue those prayers, God has definitely reached out to us.
